Myrlene Martin Wise, 89, of Victoria Community, formerly of Dothan, departed from this earthly life on December 7, 2014.


Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise with Rev. Buddy Hood and Rev. Donnie Marler officiating.  Burial will follow in the Victoria Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.


In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Victoria Baptist Church or Pilgrim Home Baptist Church Building Fund.


Mrs. Wise was born September 11, 1925, in Coffee County.  She attended Troy State Teachers College and began her teaching career at Eanon School and later New Hope School, both in Coffee County.  After moving to Dothan, she taught many years in Rehobeth School of Houston County.


Mrs. Wise was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus D. Wise, and her parents, James Mason Martin and Addie Lee Jones Martin.


She is survived by a daughter, Anne Hood; a son-in-law, Rev. Edward (Buddy) Hood; a granddaughter, Julie Glover; a grandson-in-law, Marlen Glover; and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Madison Glover.  She is also survived by four sisters: Grace (Bill) Manring, Beatrice (Comer) Tindol, Elizabeth (Bobby) Caldwell, and Macie Lee (Jerry) Irvin.
