ABBEVILLE. . .Nan Davis Clenney, a resident of Abbeville, died Friday night, April 21, 2017, at her home. She was 86.


            Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 24, 2017, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Ray S. Reiley officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 A.M. Monday at the mortuary.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or charity of the donor’s choice.


            Mrs. Clenney lived in Abbeville all her lifetime, daughter of the late John Foy Davis and Maree Bland Davis. She attended the University of Alabama and graduated from Mobile Infirmary School of Nursing where she received a degree as a Registered Nurse. Mrs. Clenney became a Public Health Nurse for Henry County for twenty-five years. In later years, she was employed with the Licensure & Certification Division in the Alabama State Health Department in Montgomery. She was baptized into the Baptist faith at any early age and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Abbeville. Mrs. Clenney was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Eugene Clenney, Sr.


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Dawn Maree Clenney, Abbeville; a son, Ralph Eugene Clenney, Jr., Dothan; two grandchildren, Brett Alexander Clenney (Laryssa), Wilmington, NC; and Chandler Allison Clenney, Birmingham; a great-grandson, Alexander James Clenney.



             Serving as active pallbearers will be Wayne Riley, Mitchell Dowling, Wally Hinesley, David Johnston, Mitchell Weaver, and Lester Killebrew.
