WEBB…Nancy Jo Snellgrove, a resident of Webb, died early Thursday morning, December 11, 2014, at her home. She was 78.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 13, 2014 in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Mike Shirah and Reverend Garner Wood officiating.  Burial will follow in the Center Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Headland. At other times, the family will be at the home of a granddaughter, Megan Zaleski, 1856 Center Church Road, Headland.

            Flowers will be accepted.

            Mrs. Snellgrove was born and reared in the Center Church Community near Webb, daughter of the late William Irvin Gamble and Nancy Melissa Murphy Gamble. She was a 1955 graduate of Houston County High School in Columbia. Mrs. Snellgrove was a member of the Center Baptist Church and attended the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. She was formerly employed as a seamstress with Parisian and J.C. Penney and also worked at First Presbyterian Church in Dothan in the church nursery. Mrs. Snellgrove was preceded in death by three sisters, Irene Thornton, Martha Sue Hand and Dannie North, a brother, Billy Gamble, Jr., and a son-in-law, Robert Sayres.

            Surviving relatives include her husband of fifty three years, Larry Snellgrove, Webb; a daughter, Melissa Snellgrove Kirkland (Jerry), Ashford; a son, Morgan Snellgrove, Webb; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Johnson, Elba and Joan Grooms Gamble, Headland; six grandchildren, Michael Ward (Wanda), Megan Zaleski (Ben), Misty May, Anna Snellgrove, Heather Smith, and Jason Temple; a great granddaughter, Mady Zaleski; and three great grandsons, Joshua Zaleski, Will Zaleski, and Logan Ward.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Roger North, Tommy Shirah, Brandon Shirah, Brody Shirah, Jason Temple, and Mike McGough.
