CLAYTON. . .Nannie Mae Greene Hartzog, a resident of Clayton, died Thursday morning, January 29, 2015, in the Ozark Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was 97.

            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, January 31, 2015, in the Prospect Baptist Church with Reverend Hollis Ritter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Douglas Hartzog, 1019 County Road 43, Clayton, AL 36016.

            Mrs. Hartzog was a lifelong resident of the Prospect Community of Barbour County, daughter of the late Colie J. Greene and Mary Elizabeth Beaty Greene. She was an active member of the Prospect Baptist Church. Mrs. Hartzog was preceded in death by her husband, John Daniel Hartzog, a granddaughter, Sheila Ann Hartzog McLendon, two sisters, Lillian Baxley and Carrie Lou Helms, and three brothers, H. J. Greene, Hayward Greene and Glenward Greene.

            Surviving relatives include a son, Douglas Hartzog (Betty), Clayton; a sister, Frances Green, Clayton; a brother, James Greene, Prattville; two grandchildren, Sonya Galbraith (Scott), and Starla Bryars (Bubba); five great-grandchildren, Alecia Williams (Josh), Mallory Danner (Russell), Chelsea Galbraith, Jonathan Bryars, and Lindsey Bryars; three great-great-grandchildren, Katelyn Williams, Alayna Williams, and Mary-Grace Williams.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Scott Galbraith, Bubba Bryars, Josh Williams, Russell Danner, Jonathan Bryars, John Greene, Mark Greene, and Jimmy Greene.
