KINSEY…Nell Palmer Davis, a resident of Kinsey, died Wednesday morning, September 10, 2014, at her home. She was 92.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 12, 2014, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Jack Wingate, Pastor James A. Rich, and a granddaughter, Marty Barrett, officiating, and eulogies to be given by family members. Burial will follow in the Dothan City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 1051, Dothan, AL 36302.


            Mrs. Davis was a native of Pansey, daughter of the late George Albert Palmer, Sr. and Zula Bernice Davis Palmer. A 1940 graduate of Dothan High School, she lived in Dothan most of her adult lifetime before moving to Kinsey in 1980. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Kinsey Baptist Church and the Beatrice Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Davis, and three sisters, Narrell Benefield, Eloise Scott and Elwin Gunnells.


            Surviving relatives include four daughters, Patsy Montague (David), Midland, NC; Lynda Kinney (Terry), Phenix City; Connie Deal (Glenn), Headland; Sandy Marchman, Dothan; a son, Glynn Davis (Beverly), Dothan; two sisters, Betty Jeffries, and Fanchion Crosby (David), all of Dothan; two brothers, Rev. George Palmer (Sara), Opelika; and Warren Palmer, Slocomb; ten grandchildren, David Montague (Judy), Stephen Montague (Angelica), Marty Barrett (Mike), Carla Gilmore, Lori Smith, John Deal (Melanie), Joey Deal (Laura), Brian Davis (Dawn), Josh Kirkland (Courtney), and Chase Marchman; and fourteen great-grandchildren.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be the grandsons.
