Nellie M. Summers of Daleville, AL passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 at her home.  She was 96.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 11, 2014 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Charles Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in Daleville Memorial Gardens with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 to 5 PM.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the organization or charity of your choice.

Mrs. Summers was preceded in death by her husband, Louie C. Summers; father, John Preston Vinson; mother, Jessie M. Vinson; brothers, Curry, Edgar, Edward, Vernell, Ralph, Pete and an infant brother, Jack; sister, Carrie Lee Holland.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Mary A. Arnold, Daleville, AL, Willene Waters (Tyrus), Enterprise, AL; son, Johnny R. Summers (Margaret), Daleville, AL; 8 grandchildren, Karen Patterson Duncan, Lisa Patterson Etheredge, Lamar Waters, Marsha Reeves, Amelia Miller, Tammy Summers, John (John Boy) Summers, Tiffany Mitchell; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren;

2 sisters, Hazel Ballard, Ray City, GA, Kathrine Symonds (David), Leesburg, FL;.
