Mrs. Campbell was born in Darlington, Florida on December 12, 1922 to the late William Clayton Conner and Ada Commander Conner.  She lived most of her life in Darlington and was a near life-long member of Darlington United Methodist Church.  She made such good grades in elementary school that her report card was exhibited at the Walton County Fair.  A graduate of Leonia High School, Leonia, Florida, she also attended Riley Business College in Montgomery, Alabama and Taylor County Vocational Technical School in Perry, Florida.

Family, home, and church were her first commitments.  She served her community, in part, as an elections poll worker and church secretary-treasurer and youth worker.  After raising her children, Nora also worked outside the home as a seamstress and quality control inspector for Van Heusen in Geneva, Alabama; secretary for a judge in Perry, Florida; and in Pensacola, Florida as a church secretary and Head Start teacher’s aide.

Nora and T.C. made the family farm in Darlington their home during retirement, where she was a homemaker, gardener, family caregiver, and assisted with the family farming business.  She was an avid reader and wonderful cook.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Harley Conner (and wife, Hilda) of Orlando, Florida; and step-grandson, Zachary Day of Birmingham, Alabama.

Quick to identify herself as a farmer’s wife, she is survived by her husband of 71 years, T.C. Campbell, a resident of Darlington and former vocational agriculture teacher at Walton County High School in DeFuniak Springs, Florida.  Other survivors are her brother, George Conner (and wife Mary) of San Antonio, Texas; children, Carolyn Bernath (and husband, David) of Tallahassee, Florida, Nancy Campbell (and husband, Charles Day) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Richard Campbell (and wife, Deborah) of Darlington; grandchildren, Shannon Sigler (and husband, Todd) of Tallahassee, Jeremy Campbell (and wife, Sarah) of Cameron, North Carolina, Joshua (and wife, Caroline) of Brandon, Florida, Jacob Campbell of Tampa, Florida, and Danny Campbell and Lacey Campbell, both of Darlington; great grandchildren, Savannah Sigler of Tallahassee and Trent Campbell of Cameron; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
