Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL


 Mr. Ambris F. Simpson, 88, of Skipperville, died Thursday evening, August 11, 2016, in Dale Medical Center.


A memorial service for Mr. Simpson will be held 2:00 P. M. Sunday, August 14, 2016, from Peniel Baptist Church with Reverend Don Moore and Reverend Freddie McCain officiating, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.


Mr. Simpson was born February 7, 1928 in Lauderdale County, Alabama.   He served in the United States Air Force before moving to Mobile, Alabama.  where he worked for Civil Service at Brookley Air Force Base.  He moved to Skipperville in 1969 and worked with Civil Service at Fort Rucker until his retirement.  Mr. Simpson loved to work outdoors especially in his garden. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ona Lee Simpson; and one sister, Linda Woodley.


Survivors include his wife, Elnita “Kitty” Simpson of Skipperville;  his children, Maleia Reynolds (Chris) of Skipperville, Steve Simpson (Jennifer) of Auburn, Scott Simpson (Diana) of Panama City, Lisa Payne (Mike) of Skipperville; one sister, Ethel Michael of Tuscumbia, Alabama; one brother, Luther Simpson (Jean) of Columbus, Mississippi; grandchildren, John Lockwood (Jenna), Jason Reynolds, Jennifer Senn (Donnie), Amanda Sewell (TJ), Haley Simpson, Emily Simpson, Ashley Simpson, Christine Simpson, Zach Payne, Elizabeth Peyregne, and Savanna Payne; five great grandchildren.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Peniel Baptist Church, 2710 County Road 41, Skipperville, Alabama  36374.
