Mr. Charlie Rufus Ziglar, 83, of Ariton, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014, in Flowers Hospital.


Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday, December 18, 2014, from Rocky Head Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Weed and  Reverend Joe Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 9:30 A. M. until service time.


Mr. Ziglar was born November 28, 1931, in Gadsden, Alabama to the late Mattie Mertice Phillips Ziglar and Lester Leslie Ziglar. He served in the United States Navy on an aircraft carrier during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Ziglar worked with Hayes International and at Fort Rucker as an avionics technician.  Later he owned and operated Pea River Nurseries for over eighteen years. He was a member of The American Legion Post #1983 and was a Master Mason in Ariton Lodge #171 where he received his fifty year pin.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Norma Mitchell; and one brother, Robert Leslie Ziglar.  Survivors include four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary Horn of Ozark, Nina and Terry Wallace of Ariton, Sally and David Murrell and Dorine Hartzog of Montgomery.
