OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348

Mr. Clifford Bozeman “Cliff” Barefield, 71, of the Bertha Community, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at his home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Friday, January 29, 2016, from New Hope Baptist Church in the Bertha Community with Reverend Jud Waldrop and Reverend Bob Hvarven officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Thursday evening from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.

Mr. Barefield was born March 30, 1944 in Tifton, Georgia to the late William Woodrow Barefield and Margaret Walker Bohanan Barefield.  He served in the United States Army from 1961 until 1964. Following his military service, he worked with Chicago Northwest Railroad for two years.  He owned and operated Cliff’s Gun Shop in Ozark for over forty years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, guns, and was an avid Alabama fan.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Frances Jones.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Carol Sue Kitterman Barefield of Skipperville; one son, Dan (Jackilyn) Barefield of Skipperville; one daughter, Lora (Terry) Bowman of Orlando, Florida; two  grandchildren, Ethan Barefield and Erin Barefield of Ozark;  five brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Kathy Barefield of Skipperville, Mike and Linda Barefield of Ozark, Julian and Bonnie Barefield of Skipperville, Rick and e`lan Barefield of  Tuscaloosa, and Robert and Susan Barefield of  Dothan.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Mr. Bill Grantham, 826 County Road 7, Newville, Alabama 36353.
