OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mr. David Thomas “Tommy” Young, age 65, of Ozark, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, from Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Jason Hughes officiating. Interment will follow with full Military Honors and Masonic Rites in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 9:30 A. M. until service time.  Mr. Young was born November 23, 1948 in Dothan, Alabama to the late David Glenn Young and Anne Lucille Metcalf Young. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and Ozark Masonic Lodge #349.  Tommy was a 1967 graduate of Carroll High School. He enjoyed Alabama football, hunting and fishing.  His grandchildren were the light of his life.  He served in the United States Army National Guard and Army Reserve for twenty-nine years, retiring following a tour in Desert Storm.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Young.  Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Brenda Johnson Young of Ozark;  two sons and one daughter-in-law, David Brian and Valerie Young of Ozark, Thomas Wayne Young of Ozark;  three grandchildren, Westin, Deanna and Michael Young of Ozark;  two brothers and one sister-in-law, James Edward Young of Alpine, Arizona, John Wayne and Sandra Young of Ozark.  Several very much loved nieces and nephews also survive.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Janet Brooks, 7300 East County Road 36, Ozark, AL  36360.  For complete information visit www.HolmanFuneralHome.com
