OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mr. Frank David Brooks of Ozark, formerly of LaPine, Alabama, passed away Friday, September 18, 2105, in Providence Home in Ozark where he was lovingly cared for, for over two years.


Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Monday, September 21, 2015, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Kenneth Hale officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Sunday from 3:00 P. M. until 5:00 P. M.


Mr. Brooks was born November 24, 1927 in Lowndes County, Alabama to the late Charles Osgood Brooks, Sr. and Marion Freeman Brooks.  He served in the United States Navy.  Mr. Brooks was a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in accounting.  He worked with the State of Alabama for forty years as an Examiner of Public Accounts, retiring as a Supervisor of the Southeast district.  He enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren, working crossword puzzles, and playing dominos.  Mr. Brooks was a member of the Methodist faith.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Mamie Shehane Brooks; two brothers and three sisters.


Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lane Brooks of LaPine, Alabama,


three daughters, Sharon (Cullen) Blankenship of Ozark, Anne Brooks of Ozark, Barbara (Donnie) Miller of Navarre, Florida; five grandchildren, F. Shane (Brooke) Woodham of Centre, Alabama, Justin Blankenship of Denver, Colorado, Aaron (Misty) Blankenship of Ozark, Nathan Blankenship of Ozark, Hannah (Anthony) Jouvenas of Ozark; three great grandchildren, Hunter Woodham of Eufaula, Eli Blankenship and Abram Blankenship of Ozark.


The family would like to express a special thanks to Caryl, Kathy, Lawanda, Trish, Angie, and all the other staff of Providence Home in Ozark.
