OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mr. Jeffery Thomas “Jeff” Gamble, of Ozark, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at his home surrounded by family and loved ones; after fighting a long battle with ALS.  He was 64 years old. 


Funeral services will be 1:00 P. M. Saturday, Ja 10, 2015, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Chaplain Tim Stevenson officiating.  Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 11:00 A. M. until service time.


Mr. Gamble was born June 15, 1950 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Woodrow Foch Gamble and Ila Vesta Miller Gamble.  He was a graduate of Carroll High School and Alabama Aviation Technical College.  Mr. Gamble served with great pride for seventeen years in the United States Air Force.  He retired from Pemco as an aircraft inspector.  Jeff worked with Army Fleet Support for three and one-half years and had to retire for health reasons. Jeff was a member of Ozark Baptist Church.  He was an avid fisherman prior to his disability.  Jeff was a very loving and caring person, a devoted husband, brother, and friend to all people.  


Surviving relatives are his wife of seventeen years, Gail Miller Gamble of Ozark;


three brothers, Woody (Kathy) of Bay Minette, AL, Terry (Denise) Gamble, and Greg Gamble of Ozark; Denise loved Jeff like a brother.  a dear step-daughter, Kim (Kevin) Smith of Smith Station, AL;  and two special grandsons, Kennan Smith and Kyle Smith; one sister-in-law, Jo Ann (Lamar) Helms of Ozark;  and a special nephew, John Gamble of Ozark.


The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Johnny and Shirley Hyatt for all their love and caring for Jeffery. In his heart they were his brother and sister.  A special thank you from the family to Covenant Hospice, all the nurses, Jenny, continuous care nurse, Karla and a special thank you to Lisa Stokes for her compassion and loving care.  Thank you Lisa for always making our day brighter. We love you.
