OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mr. Jimmy Ard Heath, 75, of Ozark, died Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at his home with his family.


Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 5, 2016, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Jean Smith and Reverend Tom Skeen officiating. Interment will follow in Mabson Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Friday morning from 9:30 A.M. until service time.


Mr. Heath was born October 30, 1940 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Houston Thomas Heath and Eleanor Elizabeth Ard Heath. He worked as a heavy equipment operator with the Ozark Utilities Board retiring with over ten years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty J. Moorehead and Margie A. West; one brother, Thomas Heath; and his step-mother, Lutie M. Heath.


Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Gerotha Simmons Heath of Ozark, one son and daughter-in-law, David L. and Angie McDaniel Heath of Ozark; two grandchildren, Morgan Heath and Jason Woodham of Ozark; two sisters, Nancy E. Peters and Judy A. Donohoo both of Ozark; one step-brother, Jerry M. Carroll (Judy) of Tallahassee, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Madge Etheredge of Ozark and Mary Thomas of Cairo, Michigan; two brothers-in-law, Jake West and Q. C. Moorehead.   Several nieces and nephews also survive.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Mabson Cemetery Fund, C/O Mr. Tommie Spurlock, 401 South County Road 20, Ozark, Alabama  36360.
