Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL


 


Mr. Kenneth Earl Baker, also known as “PA” age 70, of Ariton, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at his home.


Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday, October 15, 2016, from Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church with Reverend Greg Brown, Reverend Anita Brown, Reverend Dave Walsh, and Reverend Phil Craddock officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations directing. The Ariton varsity football team will serve as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Friday evening from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Otherwise the family will be at the home of their son, Kenny Baker.


Mr. Baker was born November 5, 1945, a lifelong resident of Ariton. He was a retired insurance agent and farmer.  He loved his family, history, arrowhead hunting, and especially loved Ariton Purple Cat athletics. Mr. Baker was a long time member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, E. F. and Flora Shirah Baker of Ariton; one brother, Clyde Baker; and one sister, Alma Senn. He was also preceded in death by his special father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emmette and Velar Evans.


Mr. Baker is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jeanette Evans Baker of Ariton; three children, Kenny (Debbie) Baker of Ariton, Penny Baker of Huntsville, Ben (Tara) Baker of Ariton; four grandchildren, Brad Baker of Kansas City, Missouri, Ciara (Jordan) Andrews of Ariton, Kaylee Baker of Ariton and Jackson Baker of Ariton; one great grandchild, Lillian Andrews; one sister, Mary Faulk of Phenix City; one brother Johnny Baker of Ozark; and very special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. 


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to Ariton School, C/O Mr. Josh Herring, 264 Creel Richardson Road, Ariton, Alabama 36311.
