OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mr. Sidney Jerome Paulk, 72, of Ozark, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at his home following an extended illness.


Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 1, 2016, in Southside Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Bynum and Reverend Kathy Strumbaugh officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends in Southside Baptist Church Thursday evening from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.


Mr. Paulk was born April 30, 1943 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Odus Paulk and Alba Oneda Stubbs Paulk. Sidney was a member of the Class of 1961 from Carroll High School.  He was an avid fan of the Auburn Tigers.  Sidney started his career in the warehouse industry at the age of sixteen and made a career in warehouse management.  He also was an independent representative of Watkins Products for over twenty-five years. Sidney was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Most importantly he was a Christ follower and dedicated servant of God.  He was a founding member of Southside Baptist Church.  He has spent much of the last thirty-five years of faithful service to his church.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Sidney Duane Paulk; and one sister, Jean Gassett.


Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ann Elmore Paulk of Ozark; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Earl Danford of Dothan, Teresa and Keith Pitts of Marked Tree, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Mallory Danford and Kyle Danford; one sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Don Wilson of Trussville, Alabama; one brother and sister-in-law, Sammy and Pat Paulk of Deatsville, Alabama.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 902 South Hwy 123, Ozark, Alabama  36360.
