OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mr. Tommy Moorehead, age 64, of Lineville, AL,  passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Clay County Hospital.


Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M.  Friday, January 2, 2014 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Dorothy Ann Webster officiating. Interment will follow in Mabson Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations directing. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville, AL on Thursday, January 1, 2015 from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. and Holman Funeral Home in Ozark Friday from 1:00 P. M. until service time.


A native of Ozark, he grew up there and graduated from G. W. Long High School (Class of 1968) in Skipperville, AL. Tommy then attended Wallace Community College and the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, FL. He also attended Troy University and spent his entire career as an Art Education Instructor. In 1979, he married Marsha Stewart and relocated to Clay County in 1987. Mr. Moorehead was a member of Mabson United Methodist Church but had been attending the First United Methodist Church of Lineville and had served for several years on the board of directors of “Callie’s Kids.”


He is survived by his wife, Marsha S. Moorehead; his daughter, Abby Kuhn (Sam), all of Lineville; his father, Q. C. Moorehead of Ozark; his brother, Bob Moorehead (Dennie) of Skipperville; his granddaughter, Quinn C. Kuhn of Lineville; two nieces: Julia Burnett and Margaret Stewart; four nephews: Heath Moorehead, Timothy Watts, Brett Watts and Kevin Watts and a host of great-nieces and nephews and other extended family members and friends.


Mr. Moorehead was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Heath Moorehead.
