OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mrs. Barbara Anne Kreutzmann, age 78, passed quietly surrounded by her family on May 31st,  2014.  Barbara was a long time resident of Ozark, Alabama.


Funeral Services will be 10:30 A. M. Thursday, June 5th, 2014 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Pastor Phil Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Blackwood Cemetery near Headland, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.


Born July 19th, 1936 in Lynchburg, Virginia, she was one of twelve children born to William Lewis Johnson and Diary Gilbert Johnson.  Barbara was a graduate of Lynchburg High School.  Barbara married soon after high school to her first husband, Henry Thomas Lindsay, a young pilot in the military.  She served her country proudly for many years raising her children and supporting her husband’s military career.  Barbara and Tom Lindsay divorced after 26 years of marriage and Barbara pursued a career with the Civil Service in the Moral Welfare and Recreation Department.  She was an accomplished ceramicist and promotional organizer.  While working as the Installation Volunteer Coordinator she met Colonel Robert Kreutzmann, Commander of the Army Aeromedical Center at Ft. Rucker, Alabama.  Discovering they were a well matched pair, they married in 1995.  After Colonel Kreutzmann retired from military service he and Barbara opened a medical practice in Ozark, Alabama.  Barb worked happily by  "Dr. Bob's" side until her illness.  Dr. Bob and Barb celebrated 18 years of marriage on April 1st 2014.


Survivors include her husband, Dr. Robert Kreutzmann, her son, Josh Lindsay and his wife Lori Lindsay, her daughters, Robin Daniel, Kristy Mulvenon and her husband Michael and Kathy Lindsay.  She had four grandchildren, Jason Larkin, Chelsea Mulvenon, Alan Daniel and Keegan Williamson, and four sisters.  She is preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters.


The family would like to extend a special thanks to Providence Home Assisted Living, Ozark Health and Rehabilitation, and Dale Medical Center for the compassionate care given Barbara.
