Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL


 


Mrs. Betty Lou Tew Whitehead, 73, of Ozark, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.


Funeral services will be graveside 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 4, 2016, in Mount Olive Cemetery in Ariton, Alabama.  Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.


Mrs. Whitehead was born February 8, 1943 in Barbour County, Alabama to the late J. D. Tew and Edith Carroll Benning Partin.  She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  She was a loving and caring person who enjoyed working in her yard, playing cards and bingo.  Her passions were cooking and feeding people. 


Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Virag of Ariton, Holly Blackmon of Ozark, Amy and Camellia Maulden of Virginia; one son and daughter-in-law, Willard "Bubba" Jr. and Mary Ann Whitehead of Ariton; five sisters, Linda Tew of Dothan, Jean Tew of Montgomery, Michelle Tew of Eufaula, Bobbie Bond of Midland City, Nancy Owens of Albany, Georgia; three brothers, Denzil Partin of Newton, Sammy Tew of Eufaula, and William Tew of Eufaula; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
