OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


 


Mrs. Caroline Stein, 89, of Ozark, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014, in Dale Medical Center.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, November 1, 2014, at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Ozark with Father Patrick Maher and Deacon John Ross officiating.  Interment will follow at Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.


Mrs. Stein was born August 9, 1925 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  The family moved to Ozark in 1954.  Caroline worked for White Knight Manufacturing before starting work for the Ozark Sears catalogue store in 1965 in telephone sales, where she became the first commission sales woman in the Atlanta District for Sears. She left Sears in 1980 and worked for Roses in Ozark until it closed.  She worked with the Van Heusen clothing outlet in Ozark for several years, with the Sears Appliance Center in Enterprise for many years, and with WalMart in Ozark for fifteen years.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing bridge and bowling.  She was a member of the Ozark Catholic community in 1954 which became St. John’s Catholic Church in 1957 and remained a lifetime member.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Godfrey Stein, Sr.; two sons, Richard W. Stein and Jeffrey A. Stein; and two grandchildren, Melvin Woodard, Jr. and Christopher Keith Woodard.


Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and James Kurtz of Plumerville, AR; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Alexandra Stein of Santa Rosa, CA, and John and Sherry Stein of Ozark;  one daughter-in-law, Carmen Stein Farrington (Ron) of Enterprise; Twelve grandchildren, Sandra Jordan (Josh), Jeanna Paul (Mike), Richard Stein, Jr. (Mallory), Alan, Brandi and Corey Stein, Erica Stewart (Shay),  Lea Poisson (Jeff), Jay Farrington (April), Tim Farrington (Diana);  eight great grandchildren,  Jessa Jordan, Grayson and Braidon Stewart, Stryker and Lennix Poisson, Hailey and Michael Farrington, and Victoria Farrington.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Catholic Charities, P.
