Mrs. Dorothy Price Mullins of Ozark died July 29, 2013.  She was 97. Funeral Services will be ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­11:00 A. M. Wednesday, July 31, 2013, in the chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with the Reverend Dr. Steve King  and the Reverend Bill Hix  officiating.  Interment will follow in Claybank Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 9:30 A. M. until service time. Mrs. Mullins was born August 4, 1915 to the late W. P. Price and Susie Martin Price. Dorothy graduated from Dale County High School (Ozark) and Troy State Normal College.  She taught school in Pinckard and Skipperville.  She was also employed for many years as the bookkeeper for the Barkett Stores and later joined her brothers in developing Martindale Plaza and the adjoining real estate.  She loved to take church sponsored bus tours and especially play bridge every Wednesday with her special friends. Dorothy had been a member of Ozark Baptist Church since 1927 and was a loyal member of the Lydia Sunday School Class. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living member of the church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.E. (Bill) Mullins, Jr.; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Martin E. Price and wife Kennette and Dr. W. Porter Price and wife Anne. Survivors include a daughter, Sue M. Lundin and husband William S. (Bill) of Milton, FL;  a son, William E. Mullins, III of Dothan; two grandchildren, Amy L. Wooley and husband Eric of Orange City, FL and Michael Lundin of Pensacola; one great grandson, Hunter Wooley; and two brothers, W. Glenn Price and wife Shirley, and John S. Price and wife Sarah Margaret.  Dorothy was very proud of her ancestry.  Her great grandfather, Elisha Matthews was among the earliest settlers of Dale County, arriving in 1824 from South Carolina. He returned to South Carolina to marry and returned with his father, Moses Matthews, as well as other family and neighbors.  In 1829, Elisha donated the first parcel of land known as Claybank for a Church and burial grounds. In 1905, W.E. Martin, having married the daughter of Elisha, gave the balance of the original lands.  In 1981, the children of W.P. and Susie Martin Price gave the remaining parcel to the association.  Dorothy took great pride in the Claybank Association’s restoration of the church in 2012.   Moses Mathews gave two acres of land, as well as logs, shingles, and labor to the Andrews Church to build Union Church and Cemetery.  This would later become Ozark Baptist Church.  Special thanks go to her caregivers Minnie McLeod, Katie Walker, and especially Gloria Stafford for her many years of patience, love, and care.  Also thanks to Diane and Jim Walding for their friendship to Dorothy over the years.
