Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL


 


Mrs. Martha Virginia Bludsworth Duffey, 77, of Newton, died Saturday, October 1, 2016, at her home.


Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday, October 8, 2016, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Chad Hixson officiating.  Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 9:30 A. M. until service time.


Mrs. Duffey was born November 30, 1938 in Dale County, Alabama to the late William Alto Bludsworth and Lennie Elizabeth Whitehead Bludsworth.   She loved bingo and her sixteen-year-old chihuahua, Lizzie.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Donald Duffey; five sisters, Willene Cook, Sally Mae Bludsworth, Mabel Bludsworth, Louise Bludsworth, and Willie Mae Bludsworth; six brothers, Charlie Bludsworth, Curtis Bludsworth, Luther Bludsworth, Ralph Bludsworth, J. M. Bludsworth, and John Bludsworth; two nieces, Deborah Leanne Smith and Lisa Marie Cook German.


Survivors include one sister, Earlene Bludsworth of Clayhatchee; two special nieces, Martha Santos and her husband, Arsenio, of Sacramento, California and Sheila Knutson of Sulphur Springs, Texas; one brother-in-law, Jimmy Cook of Newton;  several other nieces and nephews.
