OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mrs. Mary Catherine Wilson Skinner, 77, of Ariton, died Monday, September 29, 2014, in Oakview Manor Health Care.


Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday, October 2, 2014, from Ariton United Methodist Church with Reverend Greg Brown, Reverend Anita Brown, and her son, Reverend Richard Skinner officiating. Interment will follow in Universalist Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.


Mrs. Skinner was born June 30, 1937 in Dale County to the late W. Tom Wilson and Catherine Victoria Paramore Wilson. She was a member of Ariton United Methodist Church, Ariton United Methodist Women, and Matrons Study Club.  Mrs. Skinner worked as Ariton High School Secretary, Ariton School Lunchroom Manager, and later with Dr. Robert Zumstein.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Joe Wilson.


Survivors include her husband, Rodney L. Skinner of Ariton;


one daughter and son-in-law, Lydia Skinner McClendon and Phillip Kirkland McClendon, Sr. of Birmingham;


three sons and daughters-in-law, William Barry and Jodi Crick Skinner of Grant, AL, Ronnie Lee and Molly Beth Skinner of Adamsville, TN, Richard Thomas and Dana Marie Skinner of Troy, AL;


twelve grandchildren, Michael Thomas Skinner, Sean Patrick Skinner, Nathan Lee Skinner, Ashley Dawn Gaddi, Brandy Campbell, Madeline Lauren McEwen, Mary Catherine McClendon, Phillip Kirkland McClendon, Jr., Shane William Skinner, Victoria Rae Skinner, Joshua Corin Skinner, Hannah Elizabeth Skinner.


four great grandchildren, Austin Campbell, Emma Campbell, Tucker Campbell, and Piper Gaddi.


Several nieces and nephews also survive.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Ariton United Methodist Church, 1327 Hwy 51, Ariton, Alabama 36311.


Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Ezell, Mike Skinner, Sean Skinner, Shane Skinner, Kirk McClendon, and Chris McEwen; and honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Zumstein, Larry Ezell, Delbert Phillips, Bart Harden, Lomax Robinette, Garrett Beasley, and Ronnie Danner.
