OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348

Mrs. Mary Ellen Metcalf Tharpe, age 83, of Daleville, died Friday, February 21, 2014, at her home following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 24, 2014, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Ricky Bruner and Jeff Peacock officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3:00 P. M. until 5:00 P.M.

Mrs. Tharpe was born March 4, 1930 to the late William Asa Metcalf and Anna Bell Hartzog Metcalf.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Stokes; and one brother, William Howard Metcalf.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Debra Kay Tharpe Waters and Lamar Waters of Daleville;

one son and daughter-in-law, Dana Kevin Tharpe and Janice Tharpe of Daleville;

seven grandchildren, Michael and  Corina Waters, Jeremy Waters, Daniel Waters, Johnathan Tharpe and Kayla Emmil, Jessica Nicole Tharpe;

and two great grandchildren, Kelly Waters and Hunter Allen McBee Tharpe.
