OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mrs. Ramona Ann Snell Monk, age 81, of Ozark, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at her home following an extended illness.


Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Thursday, July 3, 2014, from Asbury United Methodist Church with Reverend Jerry Glover and Reverend Scott Greenwood officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home   Wednesday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.


Mrs. Monk was born August 13, 1932 in Dale County, Alabama to the late William F. Snell and Ilene Price Snell.  She had worked at Fort Rucker for over 61 years until her retirement.   She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Ozark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Marion Dowell “Jack” Monk; one grandson, Paul Hagler; and one brother, Doug Snell.


Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Terry Tyler of Ozark;


two grandchildren, Peter Hagler and wife, Joslin of Ozark and Philip Hagler of Dothan;


and one brother, Bill Snell and wife, Bobbie of Westminster, Colorado.


Several nieces and nephews also survive.


The family would like to extend a special thanks to his caregivers, Teletha Fryer, Angel Kelly, and Liala Smith.
