OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348

Mrs. Sibyl Smith Lisenby, age 89, of Ozark, died Monday, May 12, 2014, at her home.

Funeral services will be graveside at 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with her grandchildren, Reverend Gillian Lisenby Walters and Reverend Woods Bradshaw Lisenby, and Reverend Meghan Kelley officiating. Interment will follow with  Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M.

Mrs. Lisenby was born January 25, 1925 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Foy Jones Smith and Donnie Martin Smith. She worked with the Bank of Ozark, the Commercial Bank, and then with the City of Ozark Clerk’s Office as their Payroll Clerk until her retirement.  Mrs. Lisenby was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, John Woods Lisenby and Oscar Carroll; and  her sister, Hazel Smith Wilkinson.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ronny and Tonjia Lisenby of Dothan; two grandchildren, Reverend Gillian Lisenby Walters and her husband, Charles, Reverend Woods Bradshaw Lisenby and his wife, Brianna.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Steagall Seminary Scholarship Endowment Foundation, P. O. Box 242661, Montgomery, Alabama 36124; or to the First United Methodist Church of Ozark, 167 East Broad Street, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
