OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mrs. Wanda Jenell Brooks Snell, 65, of Pinckard, died Saturday, January 9, 2016, in U. A. B. Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama.


Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Wednesday, January 13, 2016, from Pinckard Baptist Church with Reverend Chris Woodall officiating.  Interment will follow in Pinckard Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday from 1:00 P. M. until service time.


Mrs. Snell was born October 29, 1950 in Columbus, Georgia to Weynell Blocker Brooks and the late James Ralph Brooks.  She grew up in southern Dale County and graduated from Dale County High School.  Mrs. Snell graduated from Troy University and later received her Masters Degree in Education.  She taught for thirty-one years in Rehobeth Elementary School until her retirement.  Following her teaching career, she worked with the Family Guidance Center in Dothan until retiring in January.  She was a member of Pinckard Baptist Church where she was a choir member, Sunday School Teacher, and served on the hospitality committee.


Survivors include her husband, Donald B. Snell of Pinckard; her Mother, Weynell Blocker Brooks of Slocomb, Alabama; one step daughter and son-in-law, Lydia and Jon Barron of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two step sons and daughters-in-law,  Mark and Stephanie Snell of Boston, Massachusetts, Nathan and Melissa Snell of Raleigh, North Carolina; step grandchildren, Hanna, Olivia, Rachel, Lydia, Caroline, Deborah, and Titus;  one sister and brother-in-law,  Lisa Jo and Timothy Rex Bagwell of Slocomb, Alabama; nieces and nephews, Chad and Ashley Bagwell, Trey and Malynda Bagwell, Clay Bagwell and his Fiance` Paige Pouncey; great nieces and nephews, Brooks, Sawyer, Colton, Mason, and Laney.


In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hunger Relief of the International Mission Board, Southern Baptist Convention, C/O Pinckard Baptist Church, 1314 Hwy 134, Pinckard, Alabama 36371.
