OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348



SFC Samuel C. Johnson (United States Army, Retired), 84, of Ozark, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Dale Medical Center.



Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Monday, July 27, 2015, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend David King officiating. Full Military Honors will be presented by the U.S. Army Honor Guard following the service.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Monday from 9:30 A. M. until service time.


Samuel, the son of the late Henry Lee Johnson and Lillian Wheeler Johnson, was born on February 6, 1931 in Engold, Sampson County, North Carolina. Samuel served and retired from the United States Army after twenty-one years.  He was an avid fisherman and dog lover, leaving behind “Bama”.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by one daughter, Gloria Faye Stellabotte; five sisters, Ethel Gaskins, Martha Rivenbark, Mary Kane, Beaula Murray, and Mildred Wells; one brother, Watus Johnson.


Samuel is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kitty Johnson of Ozark; one daughter, Kay (Ken) Cobb of Ozark; grandchildren, April Cobb of Ozark, Andrea (Scott) Lipinsky of Pensacola, Florida, Ashley Cobb of Panama City, Florida, Jessica (Greg) Hammock of Live Oak, Florida, and Allen Stellabotte of Live Oak, Florida; six great grandchildren, Christian, Mikayla and Blake Johnson, Trinity Lipinsky, Lincoln and Gage Hammock; one sister, Alene Mason of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews which he loved dearly.


The family would like to thank Ozark Health and Rehab for the wonderful care provided by their staff, especially Alfreida Johnson.
