PAULA  ELIZABETH  WILLIAMS

COLUMBIA. . .Paula Elizabeth Williams, a former resident of Columbia, Alabama, died Sunday morning, October 20, 2013, in the Bonifay Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was 65.

            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 23, 2013, in the Camp Springs Baptist Church, near Columbia, with Reverend Jim Corley and Reverend Douglas Golden officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Camp Springs Baptist Church, c/o Braxton Elliott, 12039 County Road 53, Columbia, AL 36319.

            Paula Williams was born in Atlanta on February 9, 1948. She and her family lived in Henry County in the Williams Community, near Columbia. Paula was a former member of the Columbia United Methodist Church. She was a 1966 graduate of Houston County High School in Columbia, a graduate of Wallace Community College, and 1972 graduate of the University of Alabama.  Paula was a member of the Camp Springs Baptist Church and always lived a strong Christian faith. She walked on Emmaus in 1994. Paula was a self-taught pianist. She retired as a teacher from the Gentry Technical Facility at the Alabama Institute For Deaf and Blind in Talladega.  Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Daina and Rose Adah Moye Williams, and also a sister, Annette Williams Golden.

            Surviving relatives include a sister, Martha Sue Williams Mraz (Andy), Burke, VA; a brother, Danny Williams, Columbia; a brother-in-law, Reverend Douglas Golden, Andalusia, AL; two nieces, Jennifer Golden Brown (Glynn), and Brittany Mraz; a nephew, Michael Golden; a great-niece, Elizabeth Brown, and great-nephew, Adrian Brown.
