Pearl Smith, 91, a resident of Madrid, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Knoxville, Tennessee.


Graveside services will be held 2pm Saturday, December 26, 2015 in Madrid City Cemetery with Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home directing.


Mrs. Smith was born March 18, 1924 in Geneva County, Alabama and she resided the early years in Columbia. She married her late husband Bentley Smith in 1940. Mrs. Smith was a Homemaker and attended Madrid Baptist Church. She was a avid gardener and loved to work in her yard.


Survivors include her sons, Billy John (Jean) Smith, Jerry Allen (Bobbie) Smith, Max Wayne (Judy) Smith, James Robert (Teri) Smith, and Benny Fred (Alisa) Smith; her grandchildren, Barbara Proctor, Deborah Mercer, Bobby Smith, Kelli Mitchell, Donna Sonday, Tracy Conner, Jenifer Phillips, Chris Smith, Jerome Smith, Carol Smith, and Jordan Smith; 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
