Peggy Stokes, 71, of Chancellor, AL, died Saturday, August 16, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.   
Funeral services will be held 4 pm, Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Bruce officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends from 2 pm until service time Sunday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Building Fund, 4015 Hwy 27 S, Enterprise, AL. 
Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by her parents, Namon and Burneze Herrington; also several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Stokes, Chancellor, AL; daughter, Susan Danford (Ron), Enterprise, AL; grandson, Gabe Danford; granddaughter, Taylor Danford; sister, Jane Bennett (Larry), Pittsview, AL; 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Watson (Bill), New Brockton, AL, Linda GoForth (Butch), Enterprise, AL; brother-in-law, John Stokes (Kathy), Apopka, FL.
