Peggy Sue Parrish, 59, a resident of Dothan passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at her son's residence.


Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home.


Ms. Parrish was born November 28, 1954 in Port St. Joe, Florida and lived there the early part of her life. She was a resident of Houston County most of her life. She loved working in her yard and enjoyed going fishing. She was preceded in death by her parents Hayes and Nina Porter; her daughter Vanity Erin Matthews; sisters, Barbara Ann Baxley and Wanda Jean Vann.


Survivors include her son Phillip (Jamie) Purvis of Dothan; a granddaughter Linzey Drew Purvis; brothers, James Payton Porter of Wicksburg, Broward Eugene Porter of Wicksburg, and Carroll Edward Bodiford of Dothan; a very special friend Tony Railey; several nieces and nephews.
