EUFAULA. . .Phillip M. Knowles, a resident of Eufaula, died late Sunday afternoon, May 22, 2016, in Westside Terrace in Dothan. He was 62.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 24, 2016, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Hugh D. Kirkland, Jr. and Reverend Phil Craddock officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Headland.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Westside Terrace “Activities Fund”, 501 N. Woodburn Drive, Dothan, AL 36303.


            Phillip Knowles was born and reared in Headland and was a 1972 graduate of Headland High School. He also attended Wallace Community College Sparks Campus in Eufaula. Phillip was self-employed as the co-owner and operator of White Oak Market, White Oak Community, Eufaula. In earlier years, he was engaged in farming including Knowles Farm Peanuts in Headland. Phillip was preceded in death by his father, Bobby F. Knowles.


            Surviving relatives include his daughters, Ashley Knowles Parker, Headland; and Kara Knowles Etheredge (Andrew), Ashford; his mother, Nelle Boone Knowles, Eufaula; two brothers, Frank B. (Booney) Knowles (Sandra), Milton, FL; and Tommy Knowles (Lesa), Headland; a grandson on the way, Drew Etheredge.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Hugh Moore, Wyatt Oates, Chuck Richards, Bobby Boone, Tracy Knowles, Kraig Hester, Joe Falkner, Spence Danzey and John Messer.
