MIDLAND CITY….Phillip Wayne Weed, a resident of Midland City, died early Sunday morning, November 27, 2016 at his home. He was 60.

            Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 30, 2016, in the Holman Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Mike Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Midland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Headland.

            Mr. Weed, son of the late W.T. Weed and Lillian Ileta Matthews Weed, was born in Elba and moved to Midland City at an early age. He was retired from Michelin Tire Corporation after thirty five years employment. Mr. Weed was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth E. Weed.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Diane Grissom Weed, Midland City; a daughter, Jennifer Weed, Dothan; a son, Jeffery Weed (Kristy), Newton; five grandchildren, Cole Weed, Maddox Weed, Aidan Weed, Ava Claire Weed, and Emma Grace Rhoden; sisters-in-law, Deborah Youngblood (Bo), Sylvia White, and Ramona Fulford (Sammy); several nieces and nephews.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Shane Johnson, Calvin White, Jared Fulford, Sam Fulford, Denny Weber and Derek Fulford.
