            Mrs. Phyllis (Sissy Gail) Mays Blankenship of Enterprise, AL passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in a Dothan, AL hospital.  She was 74.

            The family will receive friends at Sorrells Funeral Homes and Crematory in Enterprise Friday, September 27, 2013 from 3 until 5 pm.  She will be interred at the Powell Family Cemetery in Greenview, WV.

            Mrs. Blankenship was born March 19, 1939 in Milton, WV to the late Alex and Atless Cooper Mays.  Phyllis was a faithful Christian, giving praises to the Lord and helping everyone she could.  She lived by her mottos, “I’m not perfect…but I’m perfectly saved” and “I always give a smile and hope to get one back.”  She was a member of Faithview Holiness Church.

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, SFC Kenneth E. Blankenship; brothers: Cledith (Pete), Billie, Edward Lee, Charles and Harold Mays; and 1 nephew.

            Survivors include her 3 daughters: Brenda Cordel (companion Sammy Brasher), Randolph, AL, Floria Gore (Leland, Jr.), Uneeda, WV, and Anita Blankenship Bowman (Sonny), Enterprise; 9 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
