Raphel Windham, 73, of Slocomb passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 at his residence.


Funeral services will be 11 am Monday, July 14, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Rev. Eddie Biss officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.


Mr. Windham was born February 28, 1941 in Dale County and lived in Echo the early part of his life. He moved to Wauchula, FL and resided there for 7 years prior to returning to Houston County in 1960. He was employed with W.J. Powell for over 25 years and later with King's Furniture and Appliance for 15 years until his retirement in 2005. Mr. Windham was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gillis and Daisy Mae Windham, his wife Linda Gail Windham, and several brothers and sisters.


Survivors include his children, Tim (Bolivia) Windham, Daphne (Arturo) Prince, and Nick (Victoria) Windham; grandchildren, Eric (Heather) Windham, Kristin Owens, Kayla (William) Payne, and Patrick Wood; great-grandchildren, Austin and Preston Windham, Amanda, Alex and Bella Owens, Dalton Payne, and Aidan Windham; brothers, Marvin (Joan) Windham, Basom (Pat) Windham, and Harvey (Mary) Windham; sisters, Jewel Harrison and Lenora Turner.
