Ray Edward Buie, age 81, of Dothan, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at his residence.

 

Born December 8, 1932 in Donalsonville, Georgia to the late Herman and Alene Durden Buie, Ray was a military veteran having served in the United States Air Force. He was also a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and enjoyed playing golf.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jaunita Cooke.

 

Survivors include his wife, Martha Buie; his sister, Faye Griffin; his sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws, Linda (Daniel) Robbins, Jane (Bill) Haralson, and Louise (Harold) Trammell; his niece, Teresa Boykin; a special cousin, Tommy Durden; several special nieces; other relatives and friends.

 

Funeral services will be 3:30 PM, Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ray Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM, Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ridgecrest Building Fund or Alacare Hospice.
