"As the flower of the field, so is man, but the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting for those who fear Him." Ps. 103:17

On October 29, 2013, the most loving, gracious, patient, kindest, and wonderful Christian woman, Rebecca Cargile Frakes, left this world in the arms of her wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born in Monticello, Georgia on October 25, 1923, to the late Grady and Ethel Cargile.

Rebecca was 90 years and fours day old when she changed addresses. She was the loving wife of Delbert Frakes, who preceded her in death in 2000. Rebecca had been married to Delbert for 54 years which serves as a testimony to her patience and love for him. Also preceding her in death were her beloved son, Gary, grandson Brandon, granddaughter Marilee Oltmans, sisters Jeanette Sumners, and Joanna and brothers Leonard and James Cargile.

Rebecca is survived by her oldest son, Ronald Frakes and his wife Sherry of Radcliff, Kentucky, and daughter Lydell Oltmans and her husband David, of Dothan, Alabama, with whom she had lived for the past ten years. David would like all to know that he cashed in his "Best Mother-in-Law Ever" lottery ticket the day he married Lydell.

Rebecca was a special grandma to grandchildren Kimberly, Shana, and Shaun Frakes; Justin, Brandon and Nathan Frakes; Geoffrey and Daniel Oltmans. She is also survived by five great grandchildren in Alabama and two in Kentucky. Surviving siblings include "Junior" Grady Cargile, Linda Watkins, and Patricia Ferris, all of whom live in Georgia. She claimed family friend Betty Dixson as her daughter-in Jesus and special friend. Flo Loeffler was her best buddy who kept her up to date on Kentucky happenings.

Rebecca's going home celebration will be conducted at the Valley View Baptist Church, Vine Grove, Kentucky with internment next to her beloved Delbert. A local Dothan memorial for Rebecca will be held Saturday, November 2, from 6 to 7 PM at the Dothan Vineyard Church on Brannon Stand Road.

Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home, (334) 983-6604, is in charge of arrangements. Please call us or visit www.SunsetMemorialPark.com for more information.
