Rebecca Tucker, 82, a resident of Dothan passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at her residence.


Funeral services will be 11 am Friday, April 18, 2014 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Parnell and Rev. Don Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday at the church. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 2740 Headland Ave., Dothan, AL, 36303 or to Trinity Baptist Church, 15786 US Hwy 431, Headland, AL, 36345.


Mrs. Tucker was born September 20, 1931 in Houston County and lived most of her life in Henry County. She has resided in Dothan for the past 10 years. She was employed with Westpoint Pepperell for several years until her retirement in 1999. She also directed Weddings and was a caterer for more than 30 years. Mrs. Tucker enjoyed crocheting and cooking and loved to travel. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was the past state commander of the DAV Women's Auxiliary.


Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Willie Ethridge; her husbands, William "Bill" Hatton and Rufus Tucker, Sr.; a son Donald Lisenby; and her brothers, Dewey Ethridge and Carl Ray Ethridge.


Survivors include her daughters, Barbara (Ted) Guthrie and Lisa (Jerry) Daniels; grandchildren, Alan (Monica) Volf, Kyle Volf, Elise (Jason) Weaver, Beverly (Donald) Cody, Don (Brandi) Lisenby, Shaina Lisenby, Ann (Keith) Fennell, D.J. (Paul) Whitman, Angela (Junior) Miller, Tiffany (Michael) Vaughn, Jessie (Chip) Huber; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia (Kenneth) Cherry and Dovie Ethridge; several nieces and nephews.


Mrs. Tucker was able to be cared for at home by her loving granddaughter at heart, Amanda Whatley. The family would also like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Gentiva Hospice.
