Rev. Harrell Braxton Boyd, age 68, died Saturday, December 1, 2012 following an extended illness. Rev. Boyd was a resident of Dothan, AL and Carl Junction, MO.

 

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Monday, December 3, 2012 at Apostolic Faith Pentecostal Church with Rev. Joe Patterson and Rev. Ferrell Boyd officiating.  Burial will follow at 2:00 pm in Peaceful Acres Memorial Cemetery, Opp, AL with Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will be receiving friends in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.  Rev. Boyd will be placed in the church one hour prior to the  service on Monday.

 

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Apostolic Faith Pentecostal Church, 1516 E Cottonwood Road, Dothan, AL  36301.

 

Rev. Boyd was born on August 13, 1944 at Opp, AL the son of the late Ross Byrd Boyd and Willie Mae Marler Boyd. 

 

Rev. Boyd graduated from Opp High School in 1962 and in 1965 graduated from Troy University.  He worked at NASA for several years and was a Minister with United Pentecostal most of his career.

 

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Faye Boyd, Dothan, AL and Carl Junction, MO; daughter, Stephanie Garcia (Steven) , Carl Junction, MO; two sons, Kevin Boyd (Vickie), Rogers, Arkansas, and Scott Boyd (Lucretia), Houston, TX; brother George Boyd, Stillwater, OK and twin-brother Rev. Ferrell Boyd (Mary), Ozark, AL and two sisters, Mary Nell Phillips, Webb, AL and Betty Sellers (Ed), St. George Island, FL; and eight grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers will be: Jason Meeks, Bo Searcy, Bobby Searcy, Brandon Garcia, Brent Garcia, and Steven Garcia.
