Rev. Tommy W. Causey, 82, a resident of Midland City passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Union Springs Baptist Church in Newville, AL with Rev. Guy Causey officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

Rev. Causey was born on May 14, 1934 in Tuscaloosa, AL and spent the early part of his life in Duncanville, AL. He served as a Baptist Minister for 50 years at many locations including: Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Grand Ridge, FL, Orange Hill Baptist Church in Chipley, FL, West Pittman Baptist Church in Westville, FL, Baldwin Avenue Baptist Church in Defuniak Springs, FL, and Tolbert Baptist Church in Headland, AL. He was a devout minister and loved to study and read his bible daily. He also enjoyed listening to gospel music and later in life spent time working in his garden. Rev. Causey was preceded in death by his parents, John and Willie Lou Causey, and his grandson, Shawn Padgett.

Survivors include his wife, Minnie Causey; his son, Rev. Guy (Terrie) Causey; his daughters, Linda Gray and Brenda (Tony) Cooper; his grandchildren, Guy (Chasity) Causey, Jr., Chris (Tiffany) Causey, Chad Causey, Joshua Causey, Tommy Matt (Dineen) Gray, Lena (Justin) Wilson, and Alicia Smith; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Guy Causey, Jr., Chris Causey, Chad Causey, Tommy Gray, Josh Causey, and Justin Wilson.
