Reverend Johnny Hubert Welch was born July 22, 1927 to John and Sallie Welch, and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 24, 2016.                                       



He leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Janet Welch; his daughter Sheila Butler; his sons, Steve Welch and Ken King; his daughter-in-law, Ginny Welch; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, sisters Francis Hand and Sarah Ethel Griffin, brothers Billy Joe Welch and James Welch and his wife Jo and many close friends. 



In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Verna Mae, his brother, Elbert; his sister, Mary; his son Mitchell, his daughter Denise, and two infant sons.



A lifelong resident of Ashford, AL, Mr. Welch proudly served in the United States Army in his younger years. He was a truck driver and a proud farmer.



Later in life, he answered the call to serve the Lord and pastored Shady Grove Congregational Holiness Church in Pansey, AL.



Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, May 28, 2016 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Billy Gene Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Pansey.



The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 2 PM, Saturday, May 28, 2016, prior to the service at the funeral home.



The family will be accepting flowers.
