Reverend Osker ONeal Grimes of New Brockton passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the family residence.  He was 75.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 in the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise with Reverend Anthony Sherrer and Reverend Randy Hartley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Reverend Grimes was born March 18, 1939 in Coffee County to the late Oscar and Mary Bell Stinson Grimes.  He was a member of Elba Church of God of Prophecy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Golden Grimes, as well as 2 brothers, Allen and Thomas Grimes.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Mulkey Grimes; 3 children: Jeffery Grimes (Valerie) of Elba, Tabitha Sherrer (Duran) of Chancellor, and Wanda English (Curtis) of New Brockton; 2 step-children: Lisa Burney (Lavon) of Banks and David Maulden of Troy; a sister, Julia Cox of Baker, FL; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
