Richard B. Shirah

Richard Brown Shirah passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Elba Nursing and Rehab Center. He was 70.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Memory Hill Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Shirah was born January 2, 1945 to Samuel C., Sr. and Oneita Hodges Shirah. He loved playing his guitar and was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Samuel C. Shirah, Jr., and a sister, Dr. Sue Shirah Sands.

Survivors include his brother-in-law, Jack Sands of Mobile; his uncle, Jimmy Hodges of Dothan; and two nieces, Robbin Dennis and Beverly Cleverdon, both of Mobile.
