Richard Liddell Gray

Richard Liddell Gray, a resident of Dothan, passed away, Monday, August 12, 2013 at his residence. He was 79.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Memory Hill Cemetery with Chaplain Doug Shumate officiating and Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Advantage, 3245 Montgomery Hwy, Suite 8, Dothan, AL, 36303.

Mr. Gray was born January 16, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan and was a graduate of Miami University of Ohio where he served as Delta Kappa Epsilon Vice President and Treasurer. He spent time in the U.S. Air Force but spent most of his life working in corrugated box sales. Mr. Gray was employed later with Liberty National Life Insurance.

Mr. Gray is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Margaret Gray, his wife, Virginia Dawn Justus Gray and his son-in-law, Bill Flowers.

He is survived by his daughter, Julie Gray Flowers of Destin, FL, formerly of Dothan; a son, Richard Justus Gray of San Francisco, CA; a brother and sister-in-law, David Gray and his wife, Bobbie of Estero, FL; three beloved granddaughters, Blair Flowers Butler and her husband, Peter, Ellen Gray Flowers and Jane Asbury Flowers.
