ABBEVILLE…Robert Earl Bradley, a resident of Abbeville, went to be with his Savior late Monday night, November 9, 2015, in a Dothan hospital, after an extended illness.  He was 67.


            Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday, November 12, 2015, in the Union Free Will Baptist Church, near Abbeville, with Reverend Ray S. Reiley officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the sanctuary of the Union Free Will Baptist Church.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105, or to Children’s Hospital, 1600 7th Avenue South, Birmingham, Alabama 35233.


            Mr. Bradley was born on September 4, 1948, in Henry County. He was the son of the late C. J. Bradley and Audrey Jackson Bradley.  A 1966 graduate of Abbeville High School, Mr. Bradley was a lifelong resident of the Abbeville area in Henry County. He was baptized November 8, 1981, in the First Baptist Church of Abbeville. Mr. Bradley was proud to have served in the U.S. Army and the local Army Reserve in the Abbeville Unit. In earlier years, he was self-employed as a barber in Abbeville. Later, Mr. Bradley dedicated himself to insurance as an Agent with Independent Life & Accident Insurance Company. In later years, he worked with his brother as a Land Surveyor in the establishment of many local and Tri-State area businesses, shopping malls, and housing developments.  Mr. Bradley loved his family, friends, gardening, and fishing, and was an avid Alabama football fan. He enjoyed historical facts, telling jokes, referring to Bible verses and believed in the power of prayer in times of need. Mr. Bradley was preceded in death by three brothers, Mack Bradley, Johnny Bradley and Don Bradley.


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Stephanie Bryant (Michael), Dothan; two sons, Jason Bradley (Deborah), Abbeville; and Zack Bradley, Georgia; two sisters, Margaret Gissendanner and Juanita Turner (Bob); four brothers, Rufus Bradley (Shirley), Wesley Bradley, Eugene Bradley (Kaye), and Paul Bradley; three grandchildren, Ryan, Stephen and Hope; and all special nieces, nephews and cousins.


            The family would like to express their gratitude to a special niece and friends who helped during Mr. Bradley’s illness and a special thank you to Dr. Stokes and Dr. Carroll.


            Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Hatfield, Charles Brooks, Tommy Mims, Thomas Kennedy, J.T. Tinsley, J.P. Bronson, Wayne White and Brandon White.


            Robert Earl Bradley will be remembered and loved always.
