Robert Earl Hunt of Samson passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Monday, July 21, 2014. He was 81. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with the Rev. Donal Walsingham officiating. Burial will follow in Travelers Rest Cemetery with Pittman Funeral home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Hunt was born in Saratoga, MS on March 14, 1933 to the late Matt and Rachel Blevins Hunt. Robert loved to be outdoors, especially fishing, camping and golfing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Rita Patterson; one son, Ricky Hunt and three brothers.

He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Adams Hunt of Samson; three daughters, Anita Hunt of Jacksonville, FL, Renee Brown (Danny) of Samson, AL and Pam Hill (Jimmy) of Samson, AL; two sons, Kevin Saunders (Cyndi) of Samson, AL and Dewayne Hunt of Jacksonville, FL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, William Hunt (Louise) of Southaven, MS; one sister, Sue Hunt of Oxford, MS and several nieces and nephews.
