Robert Joseph McCoy, 65, of Dothan passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 surrounded by his loved ones at his residence.

Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Sanders officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society, P.O. Box 1045, Dothan, AL, 36302, or to First United Methodist Church “In Christ’s Name Fund,” 1380 W. Main St., Dothan, AL, 36301, or to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Rd., Dothan, AL, 36303.

Bob was born on September 8, 1947 in Detroit, MI. He served as a SSgt in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Vandenberg AFB, CA. The majority of his career was spent as an Aviation Technician, most recently in Dothan. His hobbies included airplanes, attending car shows, and race car events. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his family and pets. He was a member of First United Methodist Church Dothan for the past 22 years. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anne McCoy, and brothers-in-law, Chris Feucht and Bill James.

Survivors include his wife Pam Hogue McCoy; a son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Natalie Palmer; a grandson Mason Allan Palmer; a brother and sister-in-law Mike and Mary McCoy; a sister Carol James; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, precious nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, family and friends.
