Rosa “Sally” Mae Ritter Holley of Samson passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013.  She was 96 years old.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Samson with Rev. Sam Totten officiating.  Burial will follow in Travelers Rest Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

 Rosa Holley was born on February 24, 1917 to the late Lewis and Emma Lee Dunn Ritter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tom D. Holley; three infant sons; and a son, Doug Holley.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and enjoyed cooking, quilting, gardening and fishing.  She loved to attend church and was a member of First Baptist Church of Samson for fifty-one years.

 Survivors include two daughters, Roselyn Carnley of Statesboro, GA and Kay Marsh of Perry, GA; seven grandchildren, Olivia Sandhagen, Robin Norton, Donna Black, Amanda Darnell, Amy Marsh, Gloria Daly and Dr. Tom Holley; fourteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
