Mr. Russell Mitchell Gomez, 49, of Chancellor passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 at Flowers Hospital.

Graveside funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at El Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise directing.

Mr. Gomez was born January 7, 1965 in New Jersey to the late Edward and Frances Campbell Gomez.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his entire family as well as friends who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Rita D. Gomez of Chancellor; his daughter, Brandy Peeples (Joe) of Brantley; his son, Neal Brown of Chancellor; 5 grandchildren: Payton Marsh, Colton Marsh, Hank Peeples, Justin Peeples, and Emily Grace Peeples; 8 brothers and sisters: Lynn Tucker (James) of Chancellor, Nannette Casey (Tommy) of Geneva, Eddie Gomez of Geneva, Nelson Gomez (Denise) of Geneva, Christopher Gomez (Kim) of Wicksburg, David Gomez of Geneva, Frances Helms (Tony) of Geneva, and Jeanette Kaylor of Virginia.
